Where did you grow up? I was born and raised in Belton, MO.
-
Where did you go to school? I went to O’Hara High School in Kansas City. I received my undergraduate degree in Speech Pathology and Masters in Audiology from University of Central Missouri (UCM – formerly CMSU). I received my Doctorate from Salus University.
-
Why did you want to become an audiologist? Because I was super bad at speech pathology anatomy, specifically the throat! Teasing (mostly!). I had an Intro To Audiology class in my first semester of Speech Pathology and somehow fell in love with the profession. Without a doubt this is the profession I was meant for!
-
What is your favorite area of audiology? I’m old enough now to actually like most all of it. Personally, I like the diversity I have within my days to test and treat patients of all ages, reasons, and in a wide variety of locations too. I enjoy the treatment process and counseling too.
-
At what office(s) do you work? Belton is my home, but I can and have worked in all the locations. I like all of the offices for different reasons, but in every location I love the collaboration between Audiology and the Physicians and other staff. It’s an amazing thing to see the whole person cared for utilizing a team approach to determine what is necessary for each patient.
-
Now some fun questions! What’s your favorite television show? Oh heck, I don’t know! Grey’s, Hoarders, My Strange Addiction…basically anything my teens want to watch for the most part.
-
If you could bring back any fashion trend, what would it be? I never was a fashionista, so I’m not sure about this one. Perhaps bootcut jeans and flannel shirts!
-
If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you be? A beach with amazingly clear water and a fruity drink in my hand with an umbrella!
